StayCo started the way a lot of good businesses do — out of necessity. Kyle began by managing his own rental properties, then started helping friends and fellow investors with theirs. What started as a favor turned into a full-service property management company, but the approach never changed: treat every property like it's your own, and give every owner the kind of responsive, personal attention that larger firms can't.

Kyle Merritt was born and raised in Goldsboro and has spent seven years working in the local real estate market. He knows Wayne County's neighborhoods, rental trends, and what it takes to keep a property performing well in this area. He started StayCo because he saw too many property owners — especially military families cycling through Seymour Johnson — stuck with management companies that treated them like an account number instead of a person. His goal was to build something better: a company that's small enough to give personal attention but professional enough to protect your investment.
